N'ilu Nazareti - A Christmas Story

Wife, mother, God lover, fashion designer, writer, singer-songwriter, worship leader, OBA is a thousand shades of awesome.

OBA, as fondly called, has led several souls into God's presence with reckless abandon. Never bothered by the size of the audience, she throws in the same level of energy that she would into leading a crowd of  100,000 people into leading an audience that is as little as 5persons.

She has two albums, Simply Divine and AKODA to her credit, which both reveal her musical strength and vocal dexterity. The generous artiste recently announced a Christmas Single, N'ilu Nazareti, to be shared for free on various Social Media platforms, for your listening pleasure. Click link for music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8RbcRJNbMw

2015 Holy Ghost Congress

How time flies!

Some 18 years ago, I wasn't even a member of The Redeemed Christian Church of God then, there was so much publicity about a program to be hosted by Pastor E. A Adeboye. It was tagged Lekki '98.

Most of my friends and some members of the church I attended then were going to attend the program, so I decided to tag along. You know that peer thing that makes you want to be where "it's happening". But somehow, we didn't know enough to leave home in the morning, my friends and I decided to leave for the program around 4pm. You don't need to guess so much, we didn't make it to the program. I'm sure you know why! Almost everyone in Lagos wanted to attend.

I didn't really understand why there was so much noise about the program until years later when I became a member of RCCG and started attending programs in Camp. Then I realized that the Holy Ghost Congress isn't just one of those events where you dance away your sorrow and then continue from where you stopped the next day. It is a place of accessing God's presence and divine intervention.

From the very first Holy Ghost Congress, Divine Visitation to the last one, The Great Shepherd, there has been testimonies of healing, blessings, restoration, open doors, fruitfulness and many more. And I have no doubt that the ongoing one, The Flood Gates of Heaven will not be an exception.

The Congress kicked off with an opening service on Monday December 7th, 2015 and is schedule to hold twice daily on Tuesday & Friday, while there will be 3 sessions each on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, so no one will have an excuse to be absent.

Perhaps, for some reasons you can't attend the program, there's provision for you. simply join in on Dove TV, Channel 349 on DSTV, RTM or watch it online at www.trccg.org. Ministering will be Pastor E.A Adeboye and other anointed men of God at The Redemption Camp.

Draw up your list and take it to God with an assurance that the expectations of the righteous will not be cut short.

God bless you.

EXPERIENCE 2015

In the year 2014, one of the deadliest diseases in world history, Ebola, stopped over in Nigeria, got everyone crippled with fear and took a few lives, but that was the best it could do. Personally, I know that no God other than Jehovah could have eliminated that plague in such a short period of time, in a country like Nigeria, where we are not particularly keen about hygiene.

Before and after that, there had been instances where almost everyone would have thought there was no way of escape, but God came through.

I often wonder why God loves not just this nation, but its people so much. A gospel artiste once sang, "when praises go up, blessings come down". It is also recorded in the bible that God inhabits the praises of His people. Very true!

For the past 10 years, thousands of persons have annually gathered with one voice to worship the Most High God at a location, and we have constantly seen the hand of God.

Experience is here again. The gathering isn't about who knows how best to sing neither is it a fun fare, but it is a congregation of worshipers from various tribes & denominations with genuine longing for God.

The Experience 2015 holds at TBS Lagos at 7pm today, Friday, December 4th, and has a line-up of worship leaders from all over the world. They include: Nathaniel Bassey, Frank Edwards, Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Kim Burrell, Jessica Reedy, Sonnie Badu, Chioma Jesus, Sammie Okposo, Midnight Crew and Micah Stampley, amongst others.

Plan to be there, indeed it is going to be an EXPERIENCE!

RCCG Family Weekend

Recently, I came across a saying "Family is not an important thing, it is EVERYTHING". Very True!

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, though a very large church, has a provision for this "everything", one of which is the Annual Family Weekend.

For this year, the RCCG Family Weekend has been on since Thursday, 19th November 2015 and will end on Sunday, 22nd November, 2015.

Don't worry, you don't have to drive all the way to the Redemption Camp tomorrow, there are several Parishes around you with special packages for every member of your family. I will give you a few hints.

Hint 1:
If you live or work in and around Ikeja, the best place to be is RCCG Dayspring. I tell you, you will love it!

Highlights:
  • An awesome session of worship - If you've ever attended any of their services, you can tell the hand of God is there. I don't know how they do it, it's just obvious God is with them!
  • Sessions on Faith, Family and Finance. If you were at RCCG, LP35 Men Conference, you'll have an idea.
  • Special treat at the Church Cafe - This happens every Sunday, but tomorrow's going to be SUPER SPECIAL!
Oh, I almost forgot! RCCG Dayspring meets at Plot 29, Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja. (Rodizzio Restaurant), from 8:30 to 11am on Sundays.

Hint 2:
In case you live anywhere around Ikorodu Road, then RCCG Glory of His Grace is the place to be.

Their worship is awesome too, so I know you won't be disappointed. Apart from that, I am very sure of the Family Buffet! Not spiritual buffet o, yes you'll get to hear the word and pray, but I mean real buffet, as in buffet!

Service holds from 9am to 11.30am on Sundays, at Plot 299, Ikorodu Road, (Olatunji House).

Now you do not have any excuse to be absent from church tomorrow. Visit any of these places and be blessed. And if none of my hints seem to work for you, just check out any RCCG Parish in your area. I am sure there's a special pack for you.

Blessings,
Ayodele.

DIVINE HELP

Divine help is here!

As the year gradually draws to a close, you probably would have started going through the list of deliverables you made at the beginning of the year to be sure you nailed them.  Congrats, if you did, but if not, help is on the way.

On the other hand, you could have started making  plans for the year ahead and already thinking of how practicable your plans might be. No cause for worry, help is right here.

Why not worship at RCCG Dayspring tomorrow, Sunday, 1st November 2015 and get practical tips to actualising your dreams.

Also get ready to pray as if your life depends on it.

Venue: RCCG DAYSPRING - 29, Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja (Rodizzio Restaurant)

Time:   8.30am

Ministering: Pastor Remi Olatunbode.

God bless you.

A CUE FROM THE GERMANS

A CUE FROM THE GERMANS

I recently attended a leadership-training programme where the convener talked so much about the “excellence culture” of Germans, which he attributed to their constitution being derived from the biblical book of Leviticus. I was fascinated and embarked on a research on the German culture, and what I discovered was quite intriguing and inspiring.

BE PROACTIVE

This unique group of people are very proactive and could be considered the masters of planning; they have a well-itemized schedule for their daily activities. They do not cut corners; they work by the book, never trying to trade work with faith. Once a German discovers the proper way to perform a task, he no longer thinks of doing it any other way.

Germany was one of the top ten medal winners at the 2008 Olympic Games, yet they didn’t rest on their oars after they got back home, but started training for the 2012 Olympic Games. In another part of the world, prayer conferences were organised on behalf of a particular sports team well known for their “last minute approach” to success. Now, praying for success is not wrong, but success is also the meeting point of preparation and opportunity. Even the Bible affirms that faith without works is dead.

Looking into history, people who have succeeded in any field are not necessarily the most competent, but are diligent; they do everything to improve on their skills daily. Do you see a man, Christian or non-Christian, diligent in his work; he will stand before kings and not mere men - Proverbs 29:18. However, having done your part, commit it into God’s hand and it shall prosper – Proverbs 3:1.

If God says He will bless the works of our hands, He is also saying our hands must work.

HIGH PREMIUM ON THE HOME

With the Germans, there is a high value on family and relationships and there is no compromise with work when it comes to those two. In Germany, you are expected to leave the office immediately at the end of the business day, and if you don’t, it is assumed that your day wasn’t planned properly.

In German society, the home is made comfortable and tidy such that family members and friends may relax anytime they come in. I presume they believe a life filled with achievements could be nude and dreary if there’s no provision for fun-filled relationships.

INTEGRITY

A German resident shared a story of how he went on vacation with his family members and hired a German skilled worker to work on their bathroom tiles while they were away. When they returned, the man had done a beautiful job quite all right, except for one unnoticeable crack. When the craftsman called back to inquire about the job he had done, the resident expressed his satisfaction and appreciation, but also told him about the inconspicuous crack. The craftsman insisted so much on redoing the job, claiming that if for any reason a member of the family feels displeased as a result of the crack, his prosperity would be hindered.

Now how many times have you carried out a task knowing that you haven’t given it your best, or done it properly, and yet you go ahead to deliver it? Often times, we do the right thing simply because someone is watching – something we usually call ‘eye service’. Yet we forget that with God there can be no ‘eye service’ because He sees all, and will reward us accordingly.

If we could only take a cue from the Germans and realise that if we could prepare properly for the tasks we are given, carrying them out diligently, we just might live a long, and good life. If we appreciate the little things in life, and understand things such as making a home is more important than building a house, perhaps we would all be happier and more fulfilled. If we understand the simple fact that the pursuit of excellence will bring us prosperity, perhaps we would have more relevance in society.

Let us think on these things.

No Crime in asking

NO CRIME IN ASKING!

When Caleb was 40 years old, he and Joshua went to spy Canaan Land. Thereafter, Moses promised him some portion of land, which he didn’t claim until 45 years later. At this time, Joshua was the one in the position of leadership. When Caleb approached him to request for what he had been promised, Joshua blessed him and gave him what was rightfully his.

It would be appropriate to presume that had any one of us been Joshua, the situation could have turned ugly – we all know how terrible land issues in Nigeria can be. I mean in the first place, we would probably tell Caleb that we weren’t the ones who promised him the land, and that it was such a long time ago. Also if some of us were in Caleb’s shoes, we probably wouldn’t ask about the land for the same reasons.

Many Truth be told, the person who asks has nothing to be ashamed of, they have only moved a step closer to their ‘Personal Legend’, as Paulo Coelho puts it in his book, The Alchemist. Asking is consistent with God’s will, or else why would Christ have said in Matthew7: 7, “Ask and it shall be given unto you…”

In Judges 1:13-15, we see Caleb’s daughter exhibit that same spirit of assertiveness that her father showed. Caleb had given her away in marriage, and had also given her some land. Yet, his daughter made another request for springs of water, and of course he gave it to her, all because she asked. A lot of people keep quiet about things they desire and only speak up after someone else has gone and taken the very thing they wanted.

You can’t go through life without asking, and it doesn’t make you any less of a person if you ask. A little humility never hurt anyone; contrary to that, humility is actually a sign of great strength.

Even Jesus Christ made a few requests in his life on earth – he asked for a colt to ride into Jerusalem, he asked for Peter’s boat, and so on. So if the Son of Man could ask, what else are we talking about? Now don’t get me wrong and start begging people everywhere for things you want or need, you’ll be missing the point. I’m talking about asking for things that will aid your development and success in life.

However, remember to pray that your requests should be in line with God’s will for you.
